About Phoenix Dog & Cat Grooming

At Phoenix Dog & Cat Grooming, we pride ourselves in providing a first class experience for both owners and pets right from the beginning. Not only will your pet receive a high level of care inside the salon, we are always on hand as well for help and advice outside of the salon too.

I hold qualifications in Pet Grooming, Canine Oral Health Prevention & Care, Canine & Feline First Aid, plus a whole host of continued professional development courses from Asian Fusion Styling to Canine Skin & Coat Health. I am a huge advocate for training and qualification in the field to ensure I hold the theory behind my trade as well as the practical skills and truly believe this is what will set your experience at Phoenix aside from others.

Phoenix rose to success in 2017 in Bicester, England and has been on a new journey in Falkirk, Scotland since 2023. We have been awarded the title of ‘Top Pet Grooming Business’ in the Falkirk area for 2024 & 2025!o

Our Services

Be rest assured that when your pet comes for their groom at Phoenix, they will be treated as if they were one of our own. We allow your pets to exhibit their natural behaviours, give them time to rest and relax, provide safe spaces should they need to be away from other pets and provide them with fresh clean water and only 100% natural treats where allowed.

Clipped or Scissored Full Grooms

Our full groom service is for those needing a clipped and scissored style. All full grooms are priced individually, as it's not one groom fits all. We include bathing, drying & styling to your requirements, as well as nail trims, paw pad tidy, ear cleans and sanitary clips as standard in all our grooming services. For dog's on a regular grooming schedule, we can offer a 'Mini Groom' service between full grooms to keep their coats ship shape. Have a chat with us to find out of this is suitable for your dog.

De-shedding for Dogs

De-shedding is a groom designed for dogs with 2 (or more!) layers of coat, those who typically 'shed' their coat throughout the year. A de-shed groom will help to remove any loose/dead undercoat during the bathing and drying stages, as well as a thorough brush and comb, nail trim, paw pad tidy and ear clean. For long coated dog's receiving a de-shed, such as Border Collies, German Shepherds, Pomeranians etc, we also include any trimming requirements like tidying up their paws or hygiene areas.

Handstripping for Dogs

Handstripping is the art of removing unwanted and unneeded coat by pulling it from the follicle. The hairs pulled are past their growth cycle and are ready to be removed, so it doesn't usually cause any pain or discomfort for your dog. This service is typically uses for wire coated breeds as well as some Spaniels and Setters as an example. A handstripped coat will retain colour, texture and purpose typical for the breed and is a very traditional way of grooming for some breeds of dog.
If you're unsure whether your dog would benefit from handstripping, we can advise you so please do get in touch.
*Please note, we are not currently accepting new handstrip clients*

Puppy Academy

We strongly believe in making the puppy experience the best it can be and have developed a 4 part grooming plan designed specifically for puppies. It is designed to help your puppy gain confidence in the grooming salon, without subjecting them to the process before they are ready. We carefully approach each aspect of grooming, using praise and reward throughout to build a trusting bond with your puppy. The 4 visits consist of a meet & greet, an introduction to equipment, a mini groom and finally their first grown up hair cut. Your puppy will receive a graduation certificate and photograph at the end of visit 4 too! The Puppy Academy can be tailored to any breed, long haired, short haired, wire haired etc.

Cat & Small Animal Grooming

Cats and small animals can need regular grooming too depending on their coat type. Certified and first aid trained, we can offer cat grooming to include bathing, drying, dry brush outs, nail trims and full clips such as Lion Clips or Teddy Cuts.
Some breeds of rabbit and guinea pig also need grooming regularly to keep their coats trimmed to a manageable length, remove excess hair from around the toileting areas and to keep their nails nice and tidy.
Additional services available include: tortoise beak & nail trims and bathing, ferret bathing & nail trims, Chicken flight feather clipping.

Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning

At Phoenix, we adopt the ethos that prevention is better than a cure. Just like brushing your dog to prevent a matted coat, we should brush our dog's teeth to prevent bad oral health. With the help of ultrasound, our teeth cleaning service can help to reduce plaque build up, reduce redness to the gums and even freshen your dog's breath.
Add on to your dog's groom and pop in between grooms for a top up, frequency is key to getting good results but we don't need to sedate your dog or use any abrasive techniques to achieve a healthy mouth.

Pet Microchipping

We can provide both in house & mobile services for microchipping of cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets and guinea pigs. By law, all dogs must be microchipped by 8 weeks of age in the UK and as of June 2024, all cats aged 20 weeks and over must also be implanted with a microchip.
It is very similar to a human receiving a vaccination, a quick and virtually painless procedure that is necessary to ensure the safe return of your pet should they ever be stolen or stray.
We are registered with Petlog, the largest database for pet mircrochips in the UK, with over 13 million pets currently registered with them. Both individual pets and litters are accepted.
